Here, we will talk about how to mass-produce bath bombs from a manufacturer’s point of view and under GMP regulations.

Get material

According to the recipe, raw materials are weighed and received for production. They must be inspected and qualified.

Grinding

During the grinding process, lumpy raw materials are repeatedly ground into powder form over an extended period of time in order to make each raw material fine enough to be mixed.

Batching

According to the recipe (the ratio of each raw material depends on the performance of the product), mix all the prepared ingredients together and stir thoroughly. Dry ingredients (e.g. baking soda) and wet ingredients (e.g. fragrance oil) must be mixed separately. The key point of this process is to control the viscosity of the mixture, too wet will lead to the collapsing, too dry will not be able to forming.

Molding

The mixture is pressed into the mold. The pressure of the mold is very critical; if the pressure is too high, the finished product will sink even if the formula is floating. The proficiency of the workers will determine how well the finished product performs. This process must be continuously spot-checked to ensure that the performance of the product remains consistent. In addition, for some specific bath bombs (e.g. Rainbow Bath Bomb), the order in which the ingredients are placed determines the efficiency of production.

Dehumidification

The finished products are placed in a special drying room for 24 hours, in which the humidity must be kept below 30%. During the period, QC conducts sampling inspection.

Shrinkwrap

After dehumidification, we will shrink the goods with POF film. Temperature and speed control is crucial in this process, too high will cause too many holes and wrinkles in the film, too low will cause the film not to be tightly. Although many people dislike this layer of plastic, since the bath bomb is very susceptible to moisture, we must dress them in this clothing. There is no better way to do this.

Packaging

The packaging process will involve more materials, make sure all the packages are in place and assign the responsibilities of each position in the assembly line.

Storage

The completed product will be stored into the finished product warehouse, the temperature and humidity of the warehouse must be controlled within a reasonable range and kept cool and dry.
