Diy Shower Steamer With Essential Oils
We see shower steamers everywhere. But they're expensive, and they're usually packaged individually.
So here's a way to make your own something for yourself or your clients that looks beautiful and smells great!
what do you need
-1/2 cup citric acid-1 cup of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- Up to 20 drops of essential oil of your choice (we used a combination of peppermint, lavender and eucalyptus)
Optional: lavender flowers or rosebuds and petals
– flip cover or silicone mold
- spray or bottle of witch hazel
What should you do
First, combine citric acid and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Stir.Next, drop in your essential oils and mix.
Then, if you're using lavender flowers or roses, add some petals or buds to the flap, a little at the bottom of each hole.
Spray or add a few drops of witch hazel to a mixture of citric acid, baking soda, and essential oils. It should be slightly bubbly.
Blend until the texture feels/looks like wet sand.
Finally, carefully add the mixture to the hole in the flip top or silicone mold, leaving a little space (don't fill it completely).
The mixture will grow slightly inside the mold and fill the rest of the space.
Let the steamers fully harden before attempting to remove them from the mold.
How to use shower steamers
Turn on the shower and let the water reach your preferred temperature. When you shower, take the steamer and place it on the floor near the back of the shower.
It will bubble, and as the steamer bubbles and bursts, the scent of essential oils will fill the air.
If you leave lavender or rose petals after showering, remove them and throw them away to avoid clogging drains or mold before your next shower.
